Down and Out in Paris and London
My second reading of this really brought home something: poor people, I mean truly poor people, are not morally inferior to anyone else because they are poor. We need to stop treating them that way. We still do it, even though what Orwell is reacting against is gone (at least mostly, in certain places). I think every single fiscal conservative should read this book. Every one. Now. Get off your ass.
