Complete Stories and Poems of Edgar Allan Poe

The Complete Stories and Poems - Edgar Allan Poe This is probably pretty essential stuff. He isn't the most consistent ever. There are lots of duds in here (well, not duds, but duds in comparison to the best stories here...it's hard to say that any one story is terrible or totally uninteresting). As usual with compilations, here are my individual ratings for the stories: “A Tale of Jerusalem” [6]; “Bon-Bon” [7]; “The Duc de L'Omelette” [5]; “Loss of Breath” [9]; “Metzengenrstein” [8]; “MS. Found in a Bottle” [8]; “Silence – a Fable” [7]; “Four Beasts in One – the Homo Camelopard” [7]; “The Assignation” [9]; “The Unparalleled Adventure of One Hans Pfaall” [7]; “Shadow – a Parable” [7]; “Berenice” [8]; “Morella” [7]; “King Pest” [6]; “Lionizing” [8]; “Mystification” [6]; The Narrative of Arthur Godon Pym [4]: I now know why he doesn't write novels. This is like a bad Robinson Crusoe, and I didn't like that one at all. “How to Write a Blackwood Article” [7]; “A Predicament” [6]; “Ligeia” [7]; “The Fall of the House of Usher” [10], “The Man that Was Used Up” [6]; “The Conversation of Eiros and Charmion” [5]; “William Wilson” [7]; “The Devil in the Belfry” [6]; “The Business Man” [7]; “Philosophy of Furniture” [6]; “The Man of the Crowd” [7]; “Why the Little French Man Wears His Arm in a Sling” [6]; “A Descent into the Maelstrom” [7], “The Murders in the Rue Morgue” [10], “The Island of the Fay” [7]; “The Colloquy of Monus and Una” [6]; “Never Bet the Devil Your Head” [10]; “Eleonora” [7]; “Three Sundays in a Week” [7]; “The Mystery of Marie Roget” [8]; “The Pit and the Pendulum” [10]; “The Masque of the Red Death” [9]; “The Oval Portrait” [9]; “The Gold Bug” [8]; “The Black Cat” [9]; “The Tell-Tale Heart” [9]; “Didling” [7]; “Balloon Hoax“ [7]; “The Purloined Letter” [8]; “Mesmeric Revelation” [5]; “The Premature Burial” [9]; “The System of Dr. Tarr and Professor Fether” [9]; “The Literary Life of Thingum Bob, Esq.” [8]; “The Angel of the Odd” [7]; “Thou Art the Man” [9]; “A Tale of the Ragged Mountains” [7]; “The Spectacles” [8]; “The Oblong Box” [7]; “The Facts in the Case of M. Valdemar” [6]; “The Thousand-and-Second Tale of Scheherazade” [6]; “The Imp of the Perverse” [6]; “The Power of Words” [5]; “Some Words with a Mummy” [7]; “The Cask of Amontillado” [9]; “The Sphinx” [8]; “The Domain of Arnheim or the Landscape Garden” [5]; “Von Kempelen and his Discovery” [6]; “Mellonta Tauta” [6]; “Hop-Frog” [8]; “Landor's Cottage” [6]; “X-ing a Paragrab” [7]
