This is remarkably detailed. Either this guy had a photographic memory or he must have revisited all these places later in life (though I seem to recall he was a shut-in). It's sort of overpowering in its detail. I'm so impressed with it, and how he takes these very specific memories and connects them with some kind of universal experience, that I don't care so much that this is about a very specific and privileged place and time, which wouldn't normally have any appeal for me. I really don't know what I can say against it. It's remarkable and really just awe-inspiring.
