Oliver Twist (Dover Thrift Editions)

Oliver Twist - Charles Dickens I "read" this in high school. I must have skimmed it as I didn't remember it being so funny. Full of social comment, much of which can sort of translate to our time. Definitely easier to take than a lot of 19th century social comment if only because it is often laugh out loud funny. But like so many of the novels of the era (and the little bit of Dickens' I'm familiar with) it is spoiled by an unrealistic ending.
